What exactly gets cloned?
Everything visible on the page — stylesheets, JavaScript bundles, images, fonts, background images from CSS url(), srcsets, lazy-loaded images, OG images, and more. Assets are downloaded and rehosted on htmlhost's CDN so the clone is fully self-contained.
Will the cloned page look identical to the original?
In most cases, yes. The cloner fetches with a real browser User-Agent and follows the full asset graph. Some pages rely on server-side rendering, auth sessions, or live API calls that can't be captured — but the static visual design and layout is faithfully reproduced.
Is it legal to clone a landing page?
Cloning for personal study, design research, or using it as a starting point for your own original work is generally accepted fair use. Do not republish someone else's content, branding, or copy as your own. htmlhost's Terms of Service prohibit infringing use.
Why is this better than browser Save As?
Browser Save As produces a folder of disconnected files and breaks on CSS @imports, web fonts, lazy-loaded images, and JS modules. The Landing Page Cloner produces a single portable HTML file with everything inlined or self-hosted — no broken paths, no missing fonts.
Is this a Pro feature?
Yes. Landing Page Cloner is available on the htmlhost.co Pro plan. The clone runs server-side, downloads all assets, and rewrites them to our CDN — which requires compute and bandwidth that the free tier doesn't cover.
Can I then edit the cloned page with AI?
Absolutely — that's the intended workflow. Once cloned, the page opens in the htmlhost editor as a monolith HTML file. You can then use the AI editor to click any element and rewrite it in plain English, then deploy it to your own URL.
