Is the AI HTML editor free to use?
Yes. Free accounts get 10 AI edits a day with the built-in AI, at no cost. You can also bring your own API key from OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google for unlimited edits — your key is saved only in your browser, and when you use it, it passes through our proxy to the provider without being stored or logged.
Which AI models can I use?
The editor offers the latest models from OpenAI (GPT), Anthropic (Claude) and Google (Gemini), and adds new ones as they're released. Switch between them freely. Bring your own API key or use the built-in htmlhost AI credits.
How does element selection work?
Click the AI cursor icon in the editor toolbar to enter AI mode. Hover over any element on your live preview — sections, headers, buttons, images — and click to select it. The editor sends the selected element's HTML, its parent context, and your instruction to the AI. Only the relevant fragment is edited, keeping your surrounding code intact.
Can it edit multi-page projects?
Yes. htmlhost.co supports multi-page projects with a file tree. The AI editor works per-page, editing the active file. You can switch between pages in the tab bar and run AI edits on each independently.
What is BYOK (Bring Your Own Key)?
BYOK lets you paste your own API key from OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google directly into the editor. Your key is saved only in your browser; when you use it, it passes through our proxy to the provider without being stored or logged. This gives you unlimited AI edits at your own API cost, with no monthly cap.
Does the editor work with existing HTML files?
Yes. Paste any HTML, drop a file, or import a multi-file project. The AI editor works on whatever you bring in. It also handles vanilla HTML with inline CSS and JS — no framework required.
