Free SEO Meta Tags Analyzer & Social Preview
Your meta tags are the very first thing that search engines and social media networks see when indexing your website. A missing Open Graph image, a truncated title, or a poorly structured heading hierarchy can severely damage your click-through rate. Our free SEO Meta Tags Analyzer instantly grades your HTML and generates pixel-perfect previews for Google, Twitter, Facebook, and Discord.
How to test your Meta Tags
- URL Mode: Type your website URL into the analyzer and click "Analyze". We will instantly fetch your live source code.
- HTML Mode: Developing locally? Toggle to HTML mode and paste your raw code directly into the editor for instant client-side analysis.
- View your overall SEO score and jump into the SEO Audit tab to see actionable passes and fails across meta tags, structure, and social sharing.
- Switch to the Social Previews tab to visually verify exactly how your link will look when dropped into a Slack channel, a tweet, or a Facebook post.
What are Open Graph (OG) Tags?
Originally developed by Facebook, Open Graph tags (e.g. og:title, og:image, og:description) have become the universal standard for how links are displayed across the internet. When you share a URL in iMessage, Slack, LinkedIn, or Discord, those platforms read your Open Graph tags to generate the rich "card" preview. Without these tags, platforms fall back to scraping random text and images from your page, leading to terrible click-through rates.
What are Twitter Cards?
Twitter uses its own specific meta tags (e.g. twitter:card, twitter:image) to control how links appear on the platform. While Twitter will fall back to Open Graph tags if Twitter-specific ones are missing, it's best practice to define <meta name="twitter:card" content="summary_large_image"> to ensure you get the large, full-width image preview rather than a small thumbnail.
Technical Audits & Structure
Beyond social previews, our tool audits your document's technical SEO structure. We extract and validate your Heading hierarchy (ensuring you only have one H1, and that H2s and H3s are used sequentially). We also analyze your image tags for missing alt attributes (crucial for accessibility and image search) and check your links for proper security attributes like rel="noopener".
100% Privacy
When you use the HTML mode, the entire SEO engine runs locally inside your browser using JavaScript. We do not store, log, or analyze the source code you paste into the editor. It is entirely private, making it the perfect tool for auditing pre-release environments or internal applications.
