Connect htmlhost to Claude

Open your saved website in Claude, ask for changes, and review them before publishing. Connect through Claude's directory, then use the same connection on web or mobile.

1. Connect your account once

htmlhost is available in Claude's connector directory. Have your htmlhost and Claude accounts ready; there is no server URL to copy or configuration to enter.

Connect to Claude ↗

  1. Open the link above to htmlhost's directory page. Sign in to Claude if asked, then choose Connect (or Install).
  2. When htmlhost opens, sign in to the account that owns your project or has access to it. Review the permissions and select Approve connection.
  3. Return to Claude. htmlhost should show Connected.

Already connected to htmlhost? Keep using your existing connection and skip to the next step.

2. Check that Claude can see your projects

Open a Claude chat. In the + → Connectors menu, enable htmlhost. Send:

List my saved htmlhost projects.

Approve the tool call if Claude asks. A list of your projects confirms the connection works. If the list is empty, save a project in htmlhost first and check that you connected the right htmlhost account.

3. Continue a project from the htmlhost editor

  1. Open your project in htmlhost and select Save Draft. Wait for the save to finish.
  2. Open Open in CLI / MCP in the editor's top bar.
  3. Expand Continue in Claude mobile or web. Copy the project prompt shown below the setup steps. It already contains your project's name.
  4. Paste that prompt into your Claude chat with htmlhost enabled. Then describe the change you want.

For example, after Claude opens your project:

Change the homepage heading to ‘Welcome to our studio’. Save a draft and give me a preview link. Wait for me to review it before publishing.

Copying the prompt does not save your work. Claude can read saved project files and drafts. Unsaved editor changes and the editor's chat history are not transferred.

4. Preview, then publish

Open the preview link Claude gives you. Check the affected pages, links and layout. Saving a draft leaves the public website as it was.

When you are happy with the draft, tell Claude:

Publish the draft I just reviewed to the same htmlhost project.

You can return to htmlhost whenever you like. Reload the editor after Claude saves to load the latest files. Finish saving in one tool before continuing in the other.

Use it in the Claude mobile app

Sign in to Claude mobile with the same Claude account you connected through the directory. Enable htmlhost in the chat's connector menu, then paste your project prompt or ask Claude to list your projects.

The connection follows your Claude account. You only need to reconnect if Claude asks you to sign in again.

Add files to your website

For a file already online, give Claude its direct link and ask it to save a hosted copy in htmlhost and use it on your website. Approve Media access if prompted.

For a file on your device, attach it in Claude. If Claude cannot transfer it directly, it will provide an Upload your files link. Open it, choose your files, then return to the same conversation and say Done. Claude retrieves the file URLs for you.

Files appear in your htmlhost Media library. Your usual Media file types and storage limits apply. Anyone with a hosted file URL can view it; uploading a file does not publish changes to your website.

If you get stuck

  • The directory link does not open in the app: open htmlhost's directory page in your web browser and sign in to Claude.
  • You cannot connect: try Claude web. On a Team or Enterprise account, ask your organization's owner to enable htmlhost.
  • Claude asks you to run terminal commands: use the project prompt inside Continue in Claude mobile or web. The editor's separate Ask your agent tab is for coding tools.
  • Claude sees an older version: save your latest changes in htmlhost, then ask Claude to read the project again.
  • Claude says the project changed: ask it to read the latest files before retrying your edit.
  • Sign-in fails or the connection expires: reconnect htmlhost from Claude's Connectors settings.

To remove access, open htmlhost Settings → Connected apps and disconnect Claude. Your project files stay in htmlhost.

Claude's usage limits and your htmlhost hosting limits still apply. Setup labels can change; see Claude's connector help if its menus look different.
