Frequently asked questions
HTML web hosting makes your website files available at a public web address. htmlhost hosts HTML pages together with their CSS, browser JavaScript, images and other assets. Import a file, folder or ZIP, review it in the editor, and publish an HTTPS link.
Yes. Import the complete project folder or ZIP so the stylesheets, scripts and images keep their paths. Browser JavaScript runs on the page; PHP, Node.js servers and databases need a separate backend. Never put private API keys in files visitors can download.
Yes. The built-in AI editor lets you click any element on your live page and describe what you want to change in plain English. The AI proposes changes in the editor; review them and publish or update when ready. No setup, no separate tool. It's built directly into the editor at htmlhost.co/new.
The editor offers a selection of models; check its model picker for current availability. You can use the built-in model on the free plan with no API key needed, or bring a supported provider API key; that provider bills its usage separately.
Import your HTML, check the editor preview, then click Publish and follow any account prompts. The confirmed live URL is ready to share. For the CLI, install htmlhost-cli, run htmlhost login, then htmlhost deploy index.html.
Yes. Free publishing is available with no credit card, subject to free-plan restrictions. Sites never expire, and Pro unlocks unlimited sites, custom domains and more AI edits.
Import your index.html file or a folder with its assets. Review the editor preview, then publish. A signed-in Free account has a lifetime site-creation limit, and its sites never expire; check Pricing for current allowances.
Plain HTML, CSS and browser JavaScript do not need a build step. Import the files, preview them, then publish. If your source is a framework project, use its static build or export process first; server-side code requires a separate backend.
Pro users can connect a custom domain to any site. Point a CNAME record to htmlhost.co and we handle SSL automatically. You can manage domains from the Settings page.
Yes. Use 'htmlhost deploy .' to deploy an entire directory as a multi-page site. Each HTML file maps to a clean URL path — index.html becomes /, about.html becomes /about, and so on.
Yes. htmlhost.co has a full REST API with Bearer token authentication. You can deploy, list, delete sites, and upload media programmatically. See the docs page for endpoints and examples.
Sites at addresses ending in .htmlhost.co are made and published by htmlhost's users, not by htmlhost, so trust a link as much as you trust whoever sent it. Every site is checked automatically for phishing when it's published, and sites that break our rules are taken down. Never enter a password or card details on a page that claims to be another company. To report a site, use the Report link at the bottom of the page or go to htmlhost.co/report.
